A garden makeover
Let us know if you would like a garden makeover and we will liaise with one of our approved landscape gardening companies (all Partner companies) on your behalf. We will arrange for one local to you to come and discuss your requirements. We will also send you a sheet which will guide you through this meeting so you are prepared in advance and know the right questions to ask the landscaper.
The Bottom Drawer has created a network of highly skilled and professional landscape gardeners. Most of these companies are independent and are members of either BALI (British Association of Landscape Industries) or the APL (Association of Professional Landscapers). Both associations have their own approval criteria and set high standards which the landscapers have to adhere to. For more information about the associations visit either the BALI or the APL websites. The landscapers we use are the members of these organsisations who have expressed a desire to operate the Bottom Drawer service. In addition to the vetting procedures of their governing trade organisation, The Bottom Drawer also monitors the performance of these landscapers through regular feedback from our couples. This helps to ensure the landscapers we use provide you with a good standard of service. They do not pay to become one of our preferred landscapers so we are free to remove those that do not perform to our high expectations!
Once you have agreed a design with your landscaper, the individual elements of your new garden can be broken down into your gift list - so you may have a list consisting of each of the new deck boards for example, plus the new plants listed individually, or a water feature broken down into several constituent parts so several guests can contribute towards the whole feature!
Once your wedding is out of the way, the money collected from your list will then be used to pay your landscaper, either in whole or topped up with your own funds if necessary.
Please note that most landscape gardening companies will charge for a garden design, though you can of course add this onto your gift list to recover the cost. Or you may decide with your landscaper that a design isn't necessary as you already know what you want.
