Europe
If you are looking at a honeymoon closer to home, then Paris has to be one of the most romantic cities in the World! Cresta Holidays have a fantastic selection of hotels in Paris, but if your guests are helping towards the cost of your honeymoon then how about the 5 Star Ritz, whose motto is “refinement, discretion and perfection”! Here’s a top 10 list of things to do in Paris on your honeymoon courtesy of Cresta:
- Surround yourself in Monet's waterlillies in the newly renovated Orangeries
- Enjoy some chansons in a Parisian cellar bar
- Take the escalator to the top of the Georges Pompidou for a splendid city view
- Savour a croissant and coffee from a Bastille café
- See the light - from the Rose Window, in the Notre Dame cathedral
- Shop (or window shop) for fashions in the boutiques of Marais
- Enjoy the city's wonderful green spaces - Bois De Boulogne especially
- Browse the bookshops of the Left Bank, around Blvd St-Germain
- Take a trip along the Seine for the ultimate romantic liaison
- Take in at least a wing of the Louvre, the ultimate art gallery
Or if Paris isn’t your thing then maybe Rome? Boasting an unrivalled 3,000 year heritage of art and architecture, Rome is a truly magnificent city with something to offer every romantic couple. In the heart of Imperial Rome lies the world renowned Colosseum and Roman Forum. Across the river is the Vatican City and Michelangelo's art masterpiece, the frescoed Sistine Chapel. The Spanish Steps are a great place to sit and simply soak up the lively atmosphere of the city before exploring the cobbled streets lined with designer shops just off Piazza di Spagna.

Take a daytime stroll through the lively flower market of Campo Dei Fiori and enjoy lunch or dinner al fresco in one of the many restaurant terraces around Piazza Navona, arguably the city's most beautiful Baroque piazza.
For a breathtaking view across the city climb to the top of St.Peter's Basilica, not for the faint hearted but certainly worth the effort! Experience 'la dolce vita', for which the city is famous, and a sip an aperitif in one of the many pavement cafes that line the famous Via Veneto. Finally, before you leave, throw a coin into the Trevi Fountain, an old custom to ensure you return to the eternal city.
For somewhere to stay, take a look at the beautiful 4 star Villa Grazioli for a truly romantic honeyooon destination in Rome!
