How to use our service for free!

Book your honeymoon with our sister company Top Drawer Holidays and you can use our gift list service for FREE. And you can add non-honeymoon items to your list as well, such as things from departments stores or charitable gifts.

Another way to use our service for free is to use the money raised on your list to buy from our Affiliated stores. These are all marked in the Gifts pages and feature hundreds of online stores including most of the major department stores that normally offer stand-alone gift list services! So rather than be limited to just one stores gift list service, have one list with us which has items from lots of different stores on it.

Our customer satisfaction ratings are consistently over 95% which compares to John Lewis gift list service of under 20% (source Review Centre: March 2011) so you'd actually be better having your John Lewis gift list at The Bottom Drawer rather than at John Lewis. Strange but true!

The links you see in our Gifts pages are unique to us. When you are logged in to The Bottom Drawer and click on one of those links your gift list number is recorded in the background. When you then complete your purchase online with that store they pay us a commission and report back the amount with your gift list number. If 90% or more of the funds you raise on your gift list are spent at our affiliated stores this way then we will refund the admin fee to you! Please remember that as some months may pass between creating your list and ordering your gifts there is the possibility that some items may no longer be available, or the price may change, or the company may no longer be available through our affiliate links service. If there is something you MUST have then it may be best to buy it now and think of your gift list as a way of recovering some or all of the money at a later date.

Another way to use our service for free is via the separate arrangements we have with some companies so that they pay the admin fee on your behalf. We call these our Partner companies. Please make sure you put the name of the Partner company in the Other box for where you heard about The Bottom Drawer when you register. We will then make sure that the admin fee is refunded to you.

Finally, if you use our gift list service for some of the more unusual items such as a garden makeover, then again we are often able to waive/refund the admin fee as the landscaper will pay the fee on your behalf.
